I have had some cracking samples from my whiskyloot subscription but I doubt I have been as excited about what is coming until this was announced - the Deanston 15 Organic a 🏴 Highlands (near Stirling) single malt with a genuine 'organic' statement;
ABV: 📍46.3% (the sample label is wrong)
NCF: 📍yes indeed
V4M:📍well priced if found
Full disclosure. I love Deanston. Official. Independent. It doesn't matter, these days they nail everything. I have never tried this, or even seen one before in the wild.
Nose: so highland, honey'd with heather and slight vanilla'd summer fruits. A clean cereal note and a touch of decent Australian/NZ Sauvignon Blanc
Palate: oily but still that Highland creaminess, so crisp again with green apple and nashi pear and oozing honey, such that you can almost feel it slowly dripping down you teeth.
Finish: crisp again. Woody with lovely oak notes, gentle spice white peper heat and honey'd sweetness to balance that out. Long. I am sold. Sign me up.
That is a solid 9.25⭐'s out of 10 for me and has me now hunting one down to see how a full 70cls opens over the journey.
