A ripper single-vintage dram from Knockdhu distillery. The vintage expressions of AnCnoc have quickly become something of a modern classic in the whisky world, highly regarded by drinkers and critics alike. This iteration has been aged in Spanish and American oak casks, and bottled at 46%, without chill filtration.
AnCnoc whisky’s home is Knockdhu distillery, found in the picturesque village of Knock in the Scottish Highlands. When Knockdhu was established in 1894, it was considered the model of a modern distillery. Although the distillery has endured some closures, and it continues to use its original stills, it still marries tradition with modernity perfectly.
One thing that has changed, however, is the name of the spirit. Knockdhu changed the name of their whisky to AnCnoc to avoid any confusion with Speyside distillery Knockandu. AnCnoc makes a weighty spirit, that is lighter in flavour but not body. Very much in the aperitif style.

Rich honeyed toast and dense oak, with a refreshing zip of caramelised stem ginger. Sweet milk chocolate is contrasted with lemon rind, light oak and tangy gooseberry.
Medium length with lip smacking raspberry jam and lingering dried oak. A perfect little dram.
