The AnCnoc brand was only created in the 1990s, after the Knockdhu distillery (over 120 years old) changed the name of its whisky to avoid confusion with Speyside distillery, Knockando. What hasn’t changed is the quality spirit made at Knockdhu, as this marvellously mature AnCnoc shows. A first maturation in Bourbon casks imparts a deep vanilla sweetness, whilst a finish in Sherry casks brings dried fruit complexity.

A small distillery, that operates just two stills, Knockdhu produces a high quality of spirit, prized for its somewhat citrussy and weighty nature.
This "weight" adds body and character to the whisky when matured – allowing it to fully coat the palate with beautiful, intense flavours.
Ancnoc has been available as a single malt since the late 1980s, but they will have produced few bottlings better than this one!

Inviting and warm, with toasty aromas of baked almonds, vanilla custard, lemon curd, dried apricots, raisins, dark oak and subtle nutmeg.
Rather zesty, featuring waxy orange rinds and lemon skin on a full body. With time, the Bourbon cask vanilla and Sherried dates assert themselves.
Turns slightly savoury on this medium-long finish, with warm leather, charred oak, meaty malt and salted caramel notes persisting.
