The Archie Rose distillery was founded in 2014 in Rosebery, Sydney, initially as a white spirit distillery before branching out into whiskies. Rye whisky is their speciality and the Rye Malt is their flagship brand which only came to market earlier this year.
It has been created using specially sourced rare malted rye which has been paired with malted barley from progressive malt houses and aged for 36 months in virgin American Oak casks.
The result has been a limited-edition release which has set pulses racing on the Australian whisky scene and beyond, clinching a slew of awards including the World’s Best Rye Whisky at the World Whisky Masters (London).
This complex Rye Whisky has a lot more about than you might expect with a rich honeyed sweetness mixing classily with a fantastic peppery twang and a hint of salt from the maritime air of coastal Sydney.

A tantalising tension between sweet and savoury. It transports you to the Archie Rose Distillery in Sydney, with a slight floral scent and botanical influences.
This layered, aromatic spirit shows plenty of stone fruit, followed by fresh herbal notes on the front and a coastal saltiness towards the end. Absolutely moreish.
A hint of salinity balances the sweetness, leaves you wanting more and more.
