The Corowa Distilling Co. was established in 2010 by Dean Druce. Dean was brought up in the family business of chocolate, wheat and liquorice. However, it was when the Druce Family bought an abandoned flour mill for $1.00 off the local council with the condition that it be restored to its former glory that the distillery was born. Master Distiller, Beau Achlig, is a true local having been born and bred in the region giving the Corowa Distilling Co. a connection with their local community. This expression is an exceptional one-off release from a distillery doing some exciting things, so savour it while you can! An eclectic blend of Maplewood smoked bacon with earthy peat, musty eucalyptus, sawdust and fruitcake, in the most pleasant possible way of course!
Upfront there are strong oak characters of freshly polished sandalwood rounded out with coconut cream sweetness and texture. Soft, sweet & earthy liquorice root with stewed red berries come through on subsequent sips.
Dry bonfire smoke returns on the finish with dry woody spice and toasty oak. You might even still taste this the following day!
