A blender’s favourite – Cragganmore is one of those rare distilleries that offers complexity at virtually every age point. This sophisticated character is created through the use of very lightly peated malt, uniquely designed stills, and worm tub condensers.
The distillery was founded by John Smith, an industry legend who spent time at illustrious producers including Macallan, Glenlivet and Glenfarclas.
Now considered one of Diageo’s ‘Classic Malts’, the distillery remains a crucial part of many of the company’s blends, with the vast majority of spirit retained for blending. This means that well-aged, Special Releases such as this 20 year old are to be treasured.

Soft fruit aromas of tinned peaches, underripe banana, and melon greet the drinker, soon joined by toasted oak, slight sawdust, burnt brown sugar and a little warm leather.
A thick and weighty mouthfeel delivers flavours of sweet, bright oak and rich orchard fruits. Later, a slight peppery spice, caramelised walnuts, pecans, and some slowly drying sandalwood emerge.
Long with a lingering sweet chilli, nutmeg, gentle tannic oak, vanilla, and a faint peppery smoke. A complex and sophisticated expression of Cragganmore’s spirit.
