Found close to the Scottish Eastern Coast, this Highland distillery has historically been a part of the Stewart’s Cream of the Barley blend – once a world famous blend.
Under the ownership of Angus Dundee, the whisky has taken its place amongst the more interesting Highland Single Malts. These days, Glencadam is esteemed for its thick, waxy style – developed by a distillation process that maximizes the “reflux” (the amount of spirit that falls back into the still to be redistilled).
This bottling is an excellent example of the Glencadam house-style: fruity, waxy and packed with character.

Cereal sweetness and vanilla leaps up, soon followed by pressed flowers, kiwi fruit, waxy citrus rind and orchard fruit aromas.
A thick, waxy mouthfeel is almost dessert wine-like, and brings sugared malt, more waxy orange and lemon, caramel, vanilla, pepper, dusty oak and clear honey.
Medium-length, with peppered oak, vanilla, orange rind, toffee, a concentrated malt flavour and lingering wood spice. Perfectly poised.
