Glenfarclas is a rare distillery, in that it remains independent and family owned. The distillery is found close to the whisky power centre of Aberlour, and has changed little in terms of approach or marketing over the years, preferring to invest in making high quality single malt.

Opens with intense aromas of beeswax and concentrated sweet malt, soon joined by marmalade on toast, dark honey, raisins, a little freshly brewed coffee and polished oak.
Waxy orange and lemon peels emerge first on this full, rich mouthfeel, followed by a wave of oaky spice: nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla. Figs in syrup round things out nicely.
A medium length finish that delivers notes of drying dark chocolate, coconut flakes, Sherry tannins, leather and sugared barley.
