Each batch is distilled, matured and individually numbered, which although giving an overall consistency to its flavour, have subtle differences throughout each batch.
If you are looking for fireworks this is not the malt. Glenfiddich 18 is the “professor” in the library smoking a pipe and reading a novel next to a blazing fire. It is a very alluring, “Moorish” whisky and a great introduction to the older more matured malts.
Some may find the finish a bit short and abrupt, but that only leads to pouring another glass to continue the conversation.

Rich apple orchard from the oak (think Chardonnay), baked apple pie, light floral, some spice and malt, a touch of zest from oranges and a hint of sweetness. VIBRANT. Complex but still crystal clear.
Don’t expect fire. This malt has a good mixture of both cask influences - dried fruits, dates, orange/citrus, vanilla and a hint of sherry. Think warm caramel, toffee, demerara sugar, spice. All interlaced together with an overall influence of oak.
Short to medium, but definitely warming. Luxurious with a hint of salted toffee and spice to finish.
