A super spicy whiskey from High West distillery – the world’s only ski-in gastro-distillery! This expression contains a blend of rye whiskies, one sourced, and the other distilled at the High West Distillery. The younger sourced whiskey was distilled in column stills, offering a raw rye quality, whilst the older spirit (aged 7 years) was produced in a pot still, and adds richness and balance.
Utah might not be foremost amongst the whisky-producing regions of the world, but the Beehive State is home to one of the finest distilleries on the planet.
Since 2006, the distillery has been sourcing and producing some of the best whiskey around at their home in Blue Sky, Utah. Founded by David Perkins, a former biochemist, after visiting Maker’s Mark, High West was the first new distillery in the famously dry state since 1870.
The distillery is inspired by “Valley Tan”, a distinctively Morman kind of whiskey, encountered by none other than Mark Twain during his travels.

As spicy as promised, with intense aromas of toasted cinnamon, cloves, liquorice and fresh rye bread attacking the nose. Brown sugar emerges with time.
Just as spicy as the nose, but with the richness of the pot still spirit coming through with flavours of dark chocolate, oak, vanilla and baked apples.
A long finish offers lingering flavours of bright oak, concentrated warming nutmeg and cloves, spearmint and sweet liquorice.
