This Launceston single malt has been selected by the Whisky Loot team exclusively for our members. The whisky is bottled from a small batch of tiny French oak Tawny casks and former Bourbon barrels. A winter warmer, this full-flavoured whisky is non-chill filtered to retain the depth of character.

Found in Tasmania’s heart, Launceston Distillery is located within the town’s airport. The entire distillery operates in Hangar 17, the oldest commercial air-travel building in the state.
Launceston Distillery uses local barley, and traditional equipment and techniques to produce a high quality single malt with a distinctive Tassie twist. Launceston Distillery has a world class team behind it - with Head Distiller Chris Condon having cut his teeth as a pharmaceutical expert, before working at Boags Brewery and Nant Distillery. The spirit is diluted with pure water from the South Esk River.

Punchy oak comes first featuring vanilla, desiccated coconut and fresh sawdust developing into rich toffee and dark chocolate. Subtle notes of tart redcurrant and green apple bring refreshing balance.
Pleasantly bright at first with pine, vanilla, floral heather honey and a juicy orange marmalade zing. Richer notes of dried plums, raisins and figs give an underpinning complexity.
A medium-length finish offering burnt caramel and bitter dark chocolate. Eventually dries out into green peppercorn and cinnamon spice.
