The sherry is present from the start, with powerful aromas of ripe plums and figs, sultanas, and sweet wine taking hold. These subside to showcase Mortlach’s signature meaty malt.
Faithful to the nose, with a spiced oak flavour bringing depth and complexity. There’s some brightening lime rind, followed by toasted hazelnut and a rum and raisin like quality. Full bodied.
A seriously lush and warming finish, which alternates between Sherried fruit, cloves, brown sugar and Mortlach’s savoury maltiness.
