Oamaruvian whiskies started their life off at the Willowbank (Dunedin) Distillery where the distillers were making some reasonably unremarkable barrels of malt and grain whisky. Subsequently, they went bust, and the barrels lay dormant until some 200 barrels got into the hands of fantastic winemakers. Utilising the wine casks and flavour knowledge, something ordinary has been transformed into something extraordinary.

Huge notes of dried fruits soaked in port - prunes, apricots and cranberries. Dark caramel & leather bring pleasant earthy complexity. If you keep going back for more you might find a beautiful fresh baked pecan pie aroma.
Sweet, rich raspberry jam and clotted cream with the texture to match. Flecks of sweetened desiccated coconut and dried cherries. Undertones of damp grass, hay bales and toffee.
A long finish which very slowly dries out. Sawdust and coconut progressively intensify to an astringent conclusion.
