A boldly named blended Irish whiskey from the Dublin Liberties Distillery. The Liberties are an area of Dublin known for its distilling history, but also for its rough and ready reputation. In the 18th century, a devil carved from oak greeted travellers to the area, before apparently being made into whiskey casks.
The Liberties area of Dublin once held several distilleries, including the iconic Irish whiskey, Jameson’s. After a fallow period in the late 20th century, brands and distilleries are beginning to return to the Liberties.
Amongst them is the aptly named Dublin Liberties company, who give their spirits titles inspired by local history. The whiskey itself has been aged for 5 years, and is bottled at 46%, without chill filtration for a full, luscious body.

Lush and full bodied, flavours of spiced caramel, caramelised orange, dark chocolate and bananas take hold. Some sharp grain sweetness and lemon rind brighten the palate.
Short and sweet with a persistent black pepper and cinnamon spice. A great introduction to this brand’s range.
