Nàdurra translates from the Scots Gaelic as “natural”, a fitting description for this bold, burly dram from the famous Speyside distillery. Aged in first fill American white oak casks, bottled at cask strength and presented free from chill filtration or artificial colouring, this is as natural a dram as you are going to get. An excellent small batch single malt.
One of the most historic distilleries in Scotland, the Glenlivet was the first distillery in the Highlands (as Speyside was at the time) to receive a distilling licence, way back in 1824.
The act enraged the local illicit distillers, to the point where George Smith (Glenlivet’s first distiller) carried a pair of pistols for his protection.
These days, things are a lot calmer at the Glenlivet Distillery, which is now home to one of the most popular single malt brands in the world. Indeed, the distillery’s popularity was so high, that at one point other producers in Speyside added the suffix “Glenlivet” to their spirit, to suggest a similar quality and style, until lawsuits put a stop to the practice.
Glenlivet’s whisky is known for having a lighter, floral and fruity profile with notes of apple, pear and pineapple often prominent. This house-style is on full show with this Nadurra dram, offering an unadulterated taste of the Glenlivet’s spirit.

This dram opens up with intense, creamy malt aromas, joined by pears, apples, tinned pineapple in syrup, vanilla-rich oak, toffee, nutmeg and orange rind.
A full bodied mouthfeel is faithful to the nose, though brings a little more powerful spice – with cracked black pepper, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Orchard fruits are prominent throughout.
Long, fruity and spicy, with lingering flavours of freshly cut oak, drying spice, caramelised apples and lemon rind.
