A well-aged, and extremely rare Kentucky Bourbon from the venerable Van Winkle range. Seen as something of a gateway into the famed (and far more expensive!) Pappy Van Winkle series, Lot B is a wheated Bourbon, meaning that wheat is the second largest grain the mashbill after corn. This tends to produce a full bodied whiskey that offers sweetness, rather than rye’s hallmark spice. 12 years of maturation in new American oak gives this dram all the complexity you would expect from a Van Winkle dram!
Frankfort, Kentucky, USA
Inspired by the legendary distiller, Julian “Pappy” van Winkle, and Washington Irving’s enduring classic of American literature, Rip Van Winkle. In this short story, a man discovers a gang of mysterious strangers in the woods, drinking their liquor and falling asleep. He awakes to discover that decades have passed, and his village is very different to how he left it…
It is Rip Van Winkle who features on the bottle’s label, and much like this fictional character, the spirit inside has slumbered in wood for some considerable time! This 107 Proof (53.5% ABV) dram has been bottled at close to barrel proof, with just a touch of Kentuckian limestone-filtered water added.

Soft, subtle aromas of butterscotch and raisins emerge first, followed by cinnamon doughnuts, vanilla bean and fresh red apples.
Lush and full, yet still approachable, with an oakier profile than the nose, offering flavours of milk chocolate, vanilla-oak, tinned peach, allspice, nutmeg and fresh bread.
Medium to long, with some dark fruits coming through: red cherries, blackberry and plums, alongside some drying oak and dried apricot.
